Soros 10R ... How to Overcome Pet Barrier Gates

Greetings All,

My first time here.

So far, satisfied with my Soros 10R. One problem, though, we have pets and have set up barrier gates to keep the pets from entering areas of the home. Our home is a single level home and the Soros 10R did a fine job mapping out the floor plan. I did the mapping with the pet gates removed.

Now I have reinstalled the pet gates and the Soros cannot negotiate the threshold for the gates. It is just a bit too high.

I am looking for suggestions from the community on how I can utilize the Soros to clean areas beyond the pet gates (barriers). I have thought of two options

First Option: Invisible Walls

The first option is set up Invisible Walls on the map to prevent Rocky from accessing areas beyond the pet gate. Then pick up Rocky, place it beyond the pet gate and let it go and clean the area I want cleaned. The problem with this option, is that Rocky will try to return to the dock and it won't be able to get there unless I pick it up.

Second Option: Change to Multi-Level Map

Although our home is a single level, I have been thinking about setting up the house as a multi-level home with the levels being rooms and zones defined by the pet gates. This would require that I pick up Rocky and place him in that "level". But, as I understand it, when he finishes the task he will return to point where he was originally placed. I least that is my understanding.

Maybe there is a third option I have not thought of. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve
