How important is the mobile app experience for smart cleaning devices like Roborock?

I’ve been noticing that a lot of smart home products succeed or fail based on their companion apps. With Roborock, for example, the app is what makes it easy to schedule cleaning, set zones, or track progress. A well-designed app not only improves the user experience but also helps build long-term trust in the brand.

I’m curious what others here think — do you feel the app experience is just as important as the hardware itself? From my side, I can see why brands often work with an experienced app developer to make sure the software matches the quality of the device.
