New models every 2 years? Is there a cycle / goal for production innovation

Seems like the s7 to s8 upgrade was longer than the S8 to Saros models. Any predictions on 2026 models? I love the robotic arm idea but don’t want to give up run time and decrease cleaning power. The one robotic arm affects the size for battery, dust bin, and water tank. They could do a two robot system. One bot that is larger and has 2 or 3 arms to pick up heavier clothes like jeans. It would clear everything from floor and move it to laundry hamper. Then a smaller one that would follow behind to do the cleaning.

  • Great point! The idea of a dual-robot system is brilliant — one for picking up items and another for cleaning. If the 2026 models can balance power, battery life, and multi-arm functionality, they could take smart home cleaning to the next level.

  • That’s a great observation — Roborock’s jump from the S7 to S8 definitely took longer, likely because they focused on improving AI mapping and obstacle detection before pushing hardware innovation. For 2026, I’d expect more modular concepts rather than just one all-in-one robot. Your two-robot idea actually makes sense — one unit specialized in object pickup and another in surface cleaning could optimize battery life and suction without compromising mobility or tank space.
